We chanced upon this group of durian pickers/sellers at Siburan foothill. They were having a ball of a time picnicking near a stream under the jungle canopy.

When we arrived there, they were preparing to cook pansoh (bamboo) fish and pork.

The chief cook (guy on the left) is a Bidayuh and he was preparing the fish pansoh. He seasoned the fish, mixed it with a kind ‘lemony sour’ wild herb. I think he told me it was daun kuru.

In the ‘kitchen’… the ‘assistant’ must make sure they don’t over cook the pansoh at the same time making sure the fire is kept alive.
