It was low tide when we reached Kampung Bako one very warm late morning (despite it’s rainy season now). Life was a bit stand still in this small fishing village because of the heat.

Little mud crabs were out for sun-tanning on the river bank…

No little kids came out to play… probably they were playing in some shady and cooler areas which only if you were from this kampung you’d know where to find.

Except a few adults who braved the heat to get home or to do some errands…

And if you were old enough to handle a boat… a slow ride might just bring on some breeze…

Aaahhh… what a contrast of life in a small kampung just half an hour drive from Kuching.
