I was having lunch at Padungan the other day and couldn’t resist the clear blue sky to take some pictures. Padungan is an old part of town where the shophouses are about 20′ x 60′ in length and you still find families staying on the top floors or some associations like the Wushu federation still practices on the rooftop (in Singapore you still find colourful flags by different martial arts clubs hanging from the rooftop).

Some older shops are going through retro-fitting to make it hip to keep up with cafe this and that or western food restaurants that are attracting a lot of young executives these days.

Maybe one day the old Padungan shops will be given a face-lift like the ones found along South Bridge Road in Singapore.
