S’wakians on MAS flight MH091 test negative for A(H1N1)
KUCHING: All the nine Sarawakian passengers on board Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH091 from Newark Airport in the United States on May 13 have been accounted for and so far none of them have the influenza A (H1N1).
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan yesterday confirmed that the state was still free from the disease but insisted that preventive measures were still necessary.
He said one of the passengers had a fever but later tested negative for the influenza.
“So far we don’t have any case yet. But we still have to work together to prevent the spread of the disease in the state,” Dr Chan said, adding that the Health Department was working hard on the ground.
