Lunar New Year is celebrated with families, with friends, at home and of course at the temples. My family and I drove up to Muara Tebas the other day for a late lunch and coincidentally the lion dance troupe were there to pay homage to the deities at Ching San Yen temple.
Lots of people were there too… especially kids from other races joining in the fun watching the lion dance performance.
Children find fascination in the lion’s head. For some adults, they believe that by plucking a piece of hair from the lion’s head it’ll bring good luck – that’s what I need, LUCK!! (I’ll bring an electronic shaver next time I see a lion’s head) 🙂
